Microsoft Edge is the default web browser in Windows 10. Although Edge has its merits, it may not be the browser you want to use. The most used browser today is Google Chrome. Chances are therefore pretty good that you may want to change the default browser from Edge to Chrome. That is to say, for example, when you click a link in an email or document, you'd rather view the destination web page in Chrome instead of Edge.
When setting Chrome as the default web browser program, it will be used to open all file types that Chrome is able to open. In order to make Chrome the default Windows 10 browser, however, it must already be installed on your computer. If needed, you can download Chrome from Google's Chrome web site.
Once the Chrome installation has completed, click the Start button, and choose Settings.
Click the Apps icon.
In the left navigation, click Default apps. Under Choose default apps, scroll down to Web browser. Click Choose a default to add a browser, or click the web browser that is already selected to change it.
Scroll down the list of installed web browsers. Click on Google Chrome to set it as the new default web browser.

Set Default Programs from the Control Panel
Windows 10 also includes the Windows 7-style Control Panel. The Control Panel has the option to set default programs too. To launch the Control Panel, input Control Panel into the Windows search/Cortana box, then click Control Panel in the search results.
When the Control Panel launches, navigate to Programs > Default Programs > Set Default Programs. Scroll down the alphabetical list of Programs, and select Google Chrome. Click Set this program as default. Advanced users can configure the specific file types they want Chrome to open by clicking Choose defaults for this program instead.

How to change default browser on Windows 10
It doesn't matter which version of Windows you upgrade from the way you change defaults is different in Windows 10.
1. Click Start Menu > Settings:
2. Click the ‘System‘ tile:
3. Select ‘Default Apps' from the left-hand column:
4. Scroll down to the section headed ‘Web browser' and click on the icon underneath (it will either read ‘Microsoft Edge').

Next time you click on a web-link in another app, for example on Twitter or in an e-mail, the resulting web-page will open in Google Chrome and not Microsoft Edge.
You can still continue to use Microsoft Edge; this process does not delete it. If you ever want to go back to using Edge as default just repeat the steps listed above but, in step 5, choose ‘Edge' instead of ‘Google Chrome'.
